The National Monuments Service's description
In lowlying wet pasture, which was subjected to land reclamation and drainage in the late1980’s.
This fulacht fia was discovered in 1988 during reclamation works. A drainage trench was dug across the short axis of the mound, damaging the stone-lined trough. It consisted of a semi-circular mound (14m N–S; 6m E–W; H 0.7m) of burnt stone, burnt clay and black soil. Some of the stones (c. 1m x c.0.6m) which lined the trough were displaced, and it could be seen that they were heavily coated on one face with burnt clay. (SMR file, 1988).
