The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on a ridge, with a steep fall of ground 15m to SSW.
This enclosure is not shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is indicated on the 1930 edition as a roughly oval enclosure incorporated into a system of field walls. It is recorded on an aerial photograph (SMR file: GSI M 685 -4; Roll 218, pr. 3).
A subrectangular or polygonal enclosure (18m NE−SW; 15.7m NW−SE) defined by a drystone wall (Wth 0.8-1m; H o.8-1m). The wall is similar in size and form to adjacent field walls. There is a narrow gap (Wth 0.6m) at SSW. The interior is level and slightly sunken relative to exterior ground level, which rises naturally to N and S−SW. An internal wall encloses a small space (1.8m NE−SW; 2m NW−SE) against the inner face of the enclosing wall in the SE corner of the interior.
This appears to be simple field enclosure –probably for farm stock- and most likely 19th-century in date.
