In pasture, located on top of a ridge, with a steep fall of ground into a valley immediately to NE. Good views generally; rising ground to NNW.
This cairn is not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. Oval grass-covered raised area (11m NNE–SSW; 8m WNW-ESE) defined on the perimeter by a stone bank. The stone bank (Wth c. 2.7-.3m; int. H 0.4m at E, 1m at W; ext. H 0.8m at E, 1.25m at W) is broad and compact, composed of close-packed small and medium-sized stones. It is noticeably higher on the W side. The breadth and height of the bank reduces the internal space (diam. 3-5m) and produces a distinctive concave or dished profile. Moss and low scrub covers most of the stone bank.
The nature of this cairn is uncertain; it might be the remains of a hut site or it may simply be a field clearance heap.
