The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on top of a hill with very good views
This ringfort is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 20m), with a rectangular vernacular building abutting it at NE and another building to E of that; the enclosure and the two buildings are not shown on later map editions.
The ringfort has been levelled. A gently domed rise (diam. top c. 19m E−W; c. 12m N−S) with broadly sloping sides is evident, with a field wall skirting the S slope. The field wall cuts into the slope, being almost flush with ground level on its N side, and having a steep drop on its S face (H 2m). The shallow curve (L c. 20-24m E−W) of the field wall may preserve the original S arc of the ringfort. A kink in a N−S field wall on the E side of the rise may mark the original location of the rectangular vernacular building shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map.
There is a local tradition of a souterrain (MA072-076001-) here.
