The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, located on a rise with good views over the surrounding stony terrain, which is subdivided into a network of small fields, dotted with field clearance heaps and enclosed by drystone walls. There is a stream 200m to S.
Raised circular area (diam. c. 20m) defined by a sod-covered stony scarp (H 1.4m at N; 1.6m at S) which is faced and topped by remnants of a wall. At NE the basal courses of the wall remain in place. At W−N the scarp is incorporated into/topped by a later field wall. A portion (L 9m) of the scarp on the SE arc has been quarried out. The interior is level, but has an uneven surface, strewn with stones, with a dense moss- and sod-covered concentration in the centre.
A dense thicket of blackthorn encroaches on the NW arc of the cashel.
