In pasture, located on a rise, with a steep slope on the N side, dropping to a stream at the base of the slope 50m to N. There are good views of the surrounding undulating terrain.
Slightly raised circular area (34m N−S; 33m N−S) defined by an earthen scarp. The scarp (H 1.6m; Wth slope 3.6m, at S) is rather slumped and dilapidated on the SW arc; it is the scarp is modified at W−SE to serve as a field fence (H 1m at NW), and is faced with stone and topped with a post-and-wire fence. There are two breaks/eroded sections, one at SSE and one at W. The interior is slightly domed or raised along a central E−W axis
There is small area of quarrying on the slope to NW of the rath. Two other raths (MA071-128----; MA071-129----) are located 230m to NE and 170m to S, respectively; both are visible from this rath.
