The National Monuments Service's description

In improved pasture, located on a low rise with good views, especially along a stream valley to W-SW. Ground falls gently for c. 50m to NE towards another stream/drain.
Raised circular area (diam. 41m N–S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m at E, 4m at W; int. H 0.3m at E, 0.85m at W; ext. H 1.7m at E, 2.2m at W), outside which it is enclosed by a fosse (Wth c. 3m). The fosse is visible as a shallow depression, truncated at the E–SE by a farm track.
The interior slopes slightly down to NE–E from a slightly raised central area. To W of centre, there is a souterrain (MA071-112001-), evident as a shallow surface depression with a large slab protruding from the WSW end.
A gap (Wth c. 2m) in the bank to SE probably marks the original entrance to the rath. It is now blocked by a later field wall. There are several erosion breaks in the bank caused by farm stock, including one to N (Wth 2m) and one to E (Wth 1.6m).
The rath is moderately ringed with hawthorn trees; the interior is open and grassy.
