The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on top of a ridge, close to the S side where ground falls away, giving excellent views SE–W over a broad shallow stream valley. Rising ground restricts views N−NNE. The Trimoge River is 400m to N.
Raised circular area (31m N–S; 30.5m E–W) defined N–NE by a bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.7m, at NE) reduced elsewhere to a scarp (H 1.75m, at SW). The scarp is modified to serve as a field fence at SSE–NW, and is topped with a post-and-wire fence. A broad slumped gap (Wth c. 5m) in the scarp at ESE may indicate an original entrance.
The interior slopes down slightly from SW and centre to E–NE. Ground surface in the raised SW quadrant has disturbed appearance, with several humps and hollows, riddled with rabbit burrows. A single large boulder is set in the ground in the SE quadrant. The lintelled opening to a souterrain (MA071-106001-) is located to W of centre.
The rath interior is grassy, with several hawthorn bushes around the perimeter. There is a rath (MA071-106----) 100m to SE.
