The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture, straddling a rise with good views, in an area of generally poor-wet pasture. Ground rises to N and falls away to SW to a wet, boggy area.
A low oval earthen platform (21.2m WNW−ENE; 17m NNE−SSW) defined by a scarp (Wth 0.8m at W; 0.85m at E). The scarp incorporates large stones in parts –possibly remnants of stone facing. At NE−SE, the scarp drops to a terrace (Wth 5m) defined by a low scarp (H 0.4m) at its outer edge. At W there is a shallow depression (Wth c. 2m) outside the scarp, possibly a fosse.
The entrance may have been at E, where there is a low area/slump (Wth 1.4m) in the scarp.
The interior has a low E−W central spine, giving it a slightly domed profile. The slope is slightly more pronounced from centre down to S, where the contours of the scarp are indistinct, merging smoothly with the natural fall of ground.
The rath is ringed by hawthorn; the interior is grassy and dotted with a few hawthorn trees. There are several breaks in the scarp eroded by cattle. There is a possible rath (MA071-024----) 215m to N.
