The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a rise, utilising the slope at N−E. There are very good views in all directions over lowlying undulating wet-average grassland, with an expanse of bog to E. There is a derelict vernacular farmstead immediately to NE.
Roughly circular platform (c. 26m N−S; 26m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 1.8m at NNE; 1.2m at S). The scarp remains relatively well preserved, with a steep external slope at N−ESE. It is partly quarried out at SE, and a small drystone shed is built against it at SSE. It is levelled at SSW−NW and partly dug away at NNW.
The interior is fairly level; grass-covered and featureless. The ephemeral outline of a linear feature, possibly the remnant of a field boundary crosses the interior centrally on a roughly E−W axis. The scarp ringed with hawthorn and some blackthorn, with overgrowth encroaching on the E edge of the interior. Another rath (MA072-082----) is located 200m to W.
