The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture on bank of a tributary stream of the Mullaghanoe River.
D-shaped mound (9m N–S; 3m E–W; H 0.6m) composed of shattered sandstone fragments in a matrix of black, charcoal-rich soil. The stream borders the straight E side of the mound, with a gap of c. 0.4m between the mound and the stream bank. When inspected in 1996, small loose fragments of dried-out/weathered timber were lying adjacent to the E side of the mound. The mound is densely covered by brambles.
