The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on a rise, with a stream/drain at the base of the S-facing slope c. 30m to S.
It is not indicated on 1838 OS 6-inch map, but is shown as a hachured circular enclosure on 1920 edition. Circular area (26.4m N–S; 26-28m E–W) enclosed by a low rise/scarp (ext. H 0.6m at SW, 1.4m at NW), which is incorporated into a roughly E–W field wall at N. The interior has been extensively quarried out to a depth of c. 2m below the perimeter. A large heap of stones is piled in the NW quadrant.
Ash and sycamore trees grow throughout the interior, and the perimeter is ringed with hawthorn. To N of the field boundary which overlies the bank there is a large sunken area which suggests that the natural rise was quarried out here too.
