The National Monuments Service's description
In soft, boggy ground, located 10m NNE of a natural spring well (c. 0.7m N–S; c. 0.5m E–W), which is roughly defined by set stones, from which a small stream flows to NW. The well is located at the base of rocky, rising ground. A second, shallow NW-flowing stream is located 4m to NW of the fulacht fia.
Kidney-shaped mound (10.8m NW–SE; 5.5m NE–SW; H 0.8m at NW, 0.30m at SE) enclosing a central depression (Wth c. 2m), which indicates the position of the trough. The depression opens to SW facing the wet ground fed by the spring well. The thin covering of peaty sod on the mound is eroding in parts, revealing the characteristic make-up of heat-shattered stone in a charcoal-rich matrix.
Three other fulacht fia are located along the same stream valley: MA062-133003- is c. 20m to SE; MA072-107---- is c. 45m to SSE; MA072-107001- is c. 90m to SSE.
