The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a rise, overlooking an expanse of grassland and bog. The ground falls away gently to N for c. 250m toward the River Moy. A tributary stream of the Moy is located 270m to E. The fields to W of the rath are planted with forestry.
Raised, roughly circular area (23.6m N–S; 26m E–W) defined by an earthen scarp (Wth slope 1.3m at N, 3m at S; ext. H 1.5m at N, 2.2m at S). The scarp is well-defined. It has a broadly slumped slope at E–S, but elsewhere there is a rather vertical cut to the scarp, suggesting relatively recent modification. A small portion of the external slope has been dug away at N, and areas of erosion by farm stock are evident in parts, revealing that the rath is constructed of silty sandy soil. The interior has a slight slope from the centre to the SW. A slight linear feature, possibly the remnant of a bisecting field fence, extends through the centre of the interior on a NE-SW axis.
The interior is grass-covered; hawthorn and brambles ring the perimeter, with gorse at E. An old farm trackway, flanked by field fences, clips the outer edge of the rath.
