The National Monuments Service's description

Located in the NW of Ballymore Lough. When inspected in 1988, this crannog (diam. c. 11m) was almost entirely submerged, and was marked by a hazel bush growing on the centre. It consists of a conical stone core incorporating timbers, and is delimited by a ring of stakes, some of which protruded above water level. A wooden platform, constructed of large timbers laid horizontally on a base of stones, extends from it to S. There is a steep drop off at the edge of the crannog. There is a crannog (MA040-075----) located c. 60m to E, and another (MA040-109---) c. 100m to the W.
