The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on a roughly N−S rise or low ridge, in an area of sharply undulating terrain.
Views are good NW−N and SE, but are restricted elsewhere by rising ground.
Raised circular area (28n N−S; 28m E−W) defined by an earthen bank/scarp. The bank (Wth 5.7m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 2.6m) is most substantial at NE−E; it retains only a low internal lip at SE−S, and is reduced to a scarp (Wth slope 5.9m; ext. H 2.9m) elsewhere. The pronounced external slope of the bank at E and on the W arc is enhanced by the natural slope of the ridge. The bank has been modified and incorporated into a later system of field walls: The rath perimeter at NW−NE serves as a property boundary; the external face of the bank/scarp (ext. H 1.5m) on the S arc has been cut to vertical and faced with drystone walling, and remnants of later stone facing is also evident elsewhere around the circuit. Interior ground level in the SE quadrant dips or slopes down from the centre towards the perimeter at SE. There are a number of small, shallow roughly circular hollows (c. 2m; D 0.3-0.4m) in the interior at W, centre, NE and S.
Grass cover in the interior; hazel and hawthorn trees around the perimeter.
