The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on NW edge of a depression of wet ground on the S side of the River Deel.
This burnt mound is evident as a sod-covered subcircular heap (diam. c. 3m; H 0.5m) of burnt stone and charcoal-rich soil. The nature of this small mound is uncertain: it may be the in situ remnants of a damaged fulacht fia or it may be displaced material dumped at this location during land reclamation works.
Two fulachtai fia (MA038-178----; (MA038-177----) are located 15m and 22m to SE, respectively. A rath (MA038-033) is located c. 30m to S on rising ground.
