In rough, stony pasture, located at the E end of low rise, which provides good views over the surrounding undulating terrain. To N the slope drops into a lowlying area of damp, boggy ground.
When recorded in 1995, this enclosure consisted of a slightly raised oval area (12.5m N-S; 15.2m E-W) defined by a low, sod-covered stone bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) or collapsed stone wall. A previous inspection (OPW field notes 1967) recorded a low, enclosing wall similar in construction to modern field walls. The external slope of the stone bank is well defined, and incorporates large stones and boulders, some of which are the result of field clearance. The interior is level, with a sod-covered heap (5m N-S; 3m E-W; H 0.4m) of stones covering much of the W half. A gap (Wth 2m) at E, which appears to be lined with stones, may be the original entrance. It faces onto an oblong terrace (11.5m N-S; 8m E-W), which borders the enclosure at E and S, and is at a level 0.4-0.5m lower than it. This terrace appears to have been created by cutting into the natural rise, and it is defined by a scarp (H 0.9m) with remnants of stone facing.
