In the SE quadrant of a rath (MA031-016001)), adjacent to inner face of the bank.
This souterrain is indicated on the 1837-8 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps as ‘Cave’. A collapsed section of the souterrain is evident as a shallow subrectangular depression (overall L c. 7-8m NW−SE), grassed-over and partly infilled with boulders. The depression appears to consist of two roughly square hollows (c. 3-4m across; D 0.5-0.7m), one at N end and one at S end, with a short, narrower hollow (2m x 2m) connecting the two.
