The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a terrace on the SW-facing slope of a ridge, with the Glenree or Owenmore River 150m to S. Views are most extensive to W, where there is an expanse of lowlying, wettish pasture. There is undulating, rising ground to N and E.
This rath was probably originally circular or oval in plan, but is now roughly D-shaped, due to the incorporation of its enclosing bank at SE into a linear NE−SW field fence. It consists of a slightly raised area (27m NE−SW; 22m NW−SE) defined on the curving side SSW−NE by a bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.1m) of earth and stones. At E the bank is poorly preserved, and partly truncated by a farm track. The interior has a slight slope down from centre to E, and has an uneven surface, dotted with several small heaps of fieldstones. There is a collapsed souterrain (MA031-016002-) against inner face of the bank at S. A hut site (MA031-015----) is located 16m to W.
