The National Monuments Service's description

In the SE corner of a pasture field, in an area of undulating grassland interspersed with expanses of bog. There are farm sheds and a farmyard immediately to S. This possible mound appears as a low roughly kidney-shaped rise (c. 12m NE–SW; c. 15m NW-SE) with a narrow flattish area on top and broadly sloping sides. Human bones (MA029-058001-) were found here in the 1950’s when the W-NW side of the rise was quarried into to provide building sand for the construction of the current farm house. The bones were reburied and the quarrying was stopped. Over time the quarry face was eroded by farm stock, and bones were again exposed in the late 20th century. At that time the bones were reburied by levelling out the exposed section face and graded off the mound. The slight hollow or indentation at the WNW, which gives the rise its current kidney-like shape, is the location of the levelled off quarry pit. There is a drop in ground level immediately to E of the rise and it is not clear if this is natural or is also the result of past quarrying. Due to past disturbance it is now difficult to determine the original shape and nature of the rise. It may be a natural feature which was used for burials or it may be the remains of a deliberately constructed mound.
