The National Monuments Service's description
In stone-strewn machair, on the SE side of Inishkea South, close to a cobble storm beach on a rocky shoreline.
A low, grass-covered flat-topped sand mound (c. 20m NNW-SSW; c. 15m ENE−WSW) with quite well defined, broadly slumped slopes at W−N; at E the mound grades down gradually and is overlain on its E edge by a later N−S drystone field wall. The field wall, now ruined, encloses one of a number of small subrectangular field plots, which extend to E of the mound –these appear to be late in date.
A cluster of large upright stone slabs protrude from the W edge of the mound –possibly part of a structure, and several slabs lie prostrate on the surface, partly embedded in the sod. A midden (MA023-033002-) is intermittently exposed in the W edge of the mound.
Another possible habitation site (MA023-032001-) and midden (MA023-032002-) are located to c. 30m to S.
