The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a small, roughly oblong island (c. 55m N–S; c. 20m E–W) in tidal sandflats c. 50m N of the shore, in the inner reaches of Killala Bay, on its SW side c. 770m E of Killala town. This midden is evident as a layer of seashells intermittently exposed in section on the E side of the island.
