The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, 380m E of Morningstar River that forms townland boundary with Ballingarry. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised oval-shaped area defined by a scarp with fosse from N-E-SE and SW-W, truncated at NW by a road running N-S and at S by a post-1700 field boundary running E-W. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised sub-circular shaped area (diam. c. 45m NW-SE; 40m NE-SW) defined by a scarp and fosse incorporated into a field boundary. A trigonometrical station marking 499 ft. OD is depicted in the NE quadrant. In 1840 the Ordnance Survey recorded this monument as one of ‘two small forts about the centre of the td., one called Rahasteen, the other has a Trigl. Station erected on it called Killeen and stand adjacent to an old road bearing N.’ (OSNB Abbeyfeale to Bruree, 229). Faint trace of levelled monument visible as a circular cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
