The National Monuments Service's description
Galbally Castle described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 130-1) as following; 'The foundations of the castle could be seen in 1840 but were too defaced to be measured (Westropp 1906-7, 197) and while the site is marked on the O.S. map there is nothing to be seen now. The castle is mentioned in passing in the 1341 extent (Mills and McEnery 1916, 115).
