The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture within the demesne lands of Maiden Hall, located 100m to NW. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped earthwork within a sub-rectangular shaped moated enclosure. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a sub-rectangular-shaped area (dims c. 52m NW-SE; 40m NE-SW) enclosed by a bank with external moated fosse and entrance gap off centre to N, at E. Outline of monument delimited by trees visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages where it is intersected at NE by field boundary running E-W. May be the remains of a pre-1700 earthwork reused as a moated landscape feature associated with Maiden Hall.
See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
