The National Monuments Service's description

The 'Mint' building on the Main Street, west side, in Kilmallock. According to Bradley (1989, 154) 'A mint appears to have been in operation at Kilmallock in 1472 (Dolley 1972, 26)
but no coins with the mint signature of Kilmallock survive. A token dated 1673 and bearing the
name of Matthew Meade was also struck at Kilmallock (Lee 1965, 147).
