The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, immediately E of townland boundary with Mitchelstowndown North and S of Clogher Hill. Part of a group of monuments (LI041-013002/018-), two enclosures (LI041-013005-007-) and roads (LI041-013013/010-) lie to the immediate NE. Not marked on the OSi historic maps. Westropp described the Óenach Clochar territory as an ancient landscape and likened it to Tara, Telltown and Brugh na Bóinne in Co. Meath, and nearby Knockainey Hill, Co. Limerick.
Earthwork described by Westropp (1917-19, 67) as a ‘hollow or pond not far to the south-west of the mounds’. In Stenberger’s (1966, 38) description of the two enclosures (LI041-013005-/007-) he stated that ‘about 25m south-west of these is a marshy depression which may be natural but is possible a place from where the material was taken when the two platforms were built’. Faint trace shallow depression visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages. Possible trace of curvilinear fosse visible from NE-E-SE on Google Earth orthoimage dated 18/11/2018.
