In pasture, 75m W of townland boundary with Ballynamona, 100m NW of townland boundary with Baunageeragh and 70m N of townland boundary with Cottage. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised oval shaped area defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 28m) defined by a scarp with outer fosse from SE-S-W-N-NE. Monument described by O’Kelly (1944, 52) as a ‘Type C Earthwork’ consisting of; ‘A high circular mound surrounded by a fosse. The monument has been partially dug away on the E side and here the edge of the mound and fosse are gone. The tip of the mound seems to have been flat originally but it now slopes to the E. The overall diameter is 160’ [48.7m] and the height of the mound is 12’ [3.6m].’ The monument is visible as a raised circular-shaped area defined by a fosse on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. Visible as a raised area enclosed by a bank with broken out gap at E on Google Earth orthoimages.
