The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture 110m S of a watercourse that marks the townland boundary with Ballinculloo. The ruins of Maidstown Castle (LI039-074----) lie 420m to S. Not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised irregular-shaped area (dims. c. 65m N-S; 85m E-W) defined by a scarp from NW-E-S-W and outer fosse only from NW-N-E. A gap (Wth 10m) at WNW may be an entrance feature. Intersected at SW by field drain running NW-SE and at E by field drain running NE-SW. No surface remains visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. Levelled monument visible as a cropmark with farm track running E-W immediately to S on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/09/2020.
