The National Monuments Service's description

On top of a hill, in an area covered by ferns, furze and briars but recently planted with coniferous trees. An oval cairn of loose stone (H c. 3m; 14.2m N-S; 9.8m E-W), rising in a series of steps along its SW arc. It rises to a roughly oval summit (2.8m N-S; 3.6m E-W). There is a series of depressions in the side of the cairn; these occur at NW (3.6m N-S; 4.5m E-W; D 1m), E (2.2m N-S; 2.4m E-W; D 0.6m), off-centre to E (1.6m N-S; 0.9m E-W; D 0.75m) and at SSE (1.8m N-S; 1.45m; D 0.9m). Recent clearance work by a mechanical digger has created a passageway skirting around the cairn SE->NW; this has created a band of earth and stone against the base of the cairn (Wth 3m).
