The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, bisected by a stream which marks the townland boundary with Ballyphilip. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank, bisected by a townland boundary running N-S, intersected at NW and SE by post-1700 field boundaries. Partial monument depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a D-shaped earthwork on W side of stream only consisting of a semi-circular shaped area enclosed by a bank from S-W-N-NE and external fosse from S-W with stream forming enclosing element at E. No enclosing element is depicted on the E side of the stream on this edition of the OSi map. Monument visible as scrub covered earthwork on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
