The National Monuments Service's description

In forestry, 100m NW of the Ballynamona River and 325m SW of a townland boundary with Portboy. Ring-barrow (LI032-097001-) lies 60m to SW and barrow (LI032-098----) lies 50m to S. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a ring-barrow and recorded as ‘Ballynamona (Hospital) 3’ by Grogan (1989, 218). Area of monument is visible as a roughly circular-shaped, unplanted forestry exclusion zone (overall diam. 30m) on OSi orthoimages taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 05/04/2006.
