The National Monuments Service's description

On gently sloping ground falling E where a stream flows 750m N into the Camoge River. The feature is located 370m E of Cahercorney Church (LI032-072001-) and graveyard (LI032-072002-). Located within a complex of 12 monuments (LI032-073001-/013-) recorded by M. J. O'Kelly (1942-3, 181-2). The Discovery Programme identified further monuments within the complex including this ‘site’ (LI032-073015-).
The feature is not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as an earthwork during archaeological research by the Discovery Programme (Grogan 2005) on the North Munster Project (Discovery Programme Site No. 15). The site is visible on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 as the W edge of a natural ridge that defines the W edge of the floodplain of a small stream that flows N into the Camoge River and defines where the ground rises to the W. Some of the archaeological sites within the complex are located in the stream floodplain in marshy ground as described by O'Kelly (1952/3, 181-2), O’Kelly identifies a further 6 monuments to the W on gently rising ground above the floodplain. The extent of the large V-shaped marshy floodplain defined by the higher ground around it is visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 05/04/2006; 25/05/2017 and 20/09/2020. The site should appraised by field inspection. It may be the remains of a natural feature and not an archaeological monument.
