The National Monuments Service's description

On flat pasture 540m E of the townland boundary with Ballintaw. Crean church (LI031-091001) and graveyard (LI031-091002-) are located 390m to WSW, ringfort (LI031-189----) located 200m to SE. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Visible on the OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 and on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013 as a D-shaped enclosure (ext. dims. c. 67m N-S; 53m E-W) surrounded by a fosse and external bank on the W side. The earthworks that define the site on the other sides consist of a fosse. Small relic field boundaries link the site into the surrounding existing field boundaries on the N and S. Identified by ASI aerial photographic survey 2002 (ASIAP (307) 27 and 28) as an enclosure. The site is visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 16/03/2016; 28/06/2018 and 24/09/2018.
