The National Monuments Service's description

On a low ridge in pasture 360m NE of the townland boundary with Dollas Upper. The W, S and SE side of the site is incorporated in modern field boundaries. A series of archaeological excavations on the ‘Bord Gáis Éireann's Pipeline to the West’ were conducted 600m to SW (Grogan et al. 2007). The site is depicted as a circular embanked fort on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map and as an earthwork (int. diam. c. 50m N-S; 46m E-W) surrounded by a fosse (Wth. 8m) on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. The ringfort bank appears to partially survive in the modern field boundary visible on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013 visible from SE-S-W-NW and has been levelled elsewhere. A farm lane runs in the fosse on the S side of the possible ringfort. The monument is visible on the Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
