The National Monuments Service's description
On a gentle NE-facing slope, in improved pasture, 35m SE of a townland boundary with Ballyphilip. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as a slender upright stone (H 1.55m) of sandstone which is roughly rectangular-shaped in plan (T 0.1m at base; T 0.08m at top; Wth 0.4m) and is orientated ENE-WSW on its long-axis . Top of stone appears to have broken off, as indicated by a clean fracture. Erosion around base of stone, probably caused by cattle using it as a scratching post. Monument is visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018.
