The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture on a slight NE-facing slope with moderate to good views in all directions. Located 375m SW of the River Maigue and the townland boundary with Castleroberts and Caherass. A mound (LI021-082----) lies 450m to NNW and a ringfort (LI021-084----) lies 380m to ESE. Not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. First shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an oval enclosure (ext. diam. 42m N-S; 43m E-W) with angular edges on the W side surrounded by a fosse. Inspected by the ASI in 2000 when it was described as a slightly raised circular-shaped area (int. diam. 29m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a scarped edge and external fosse (Wth 5.1m; int. D 0.5m; ext. D 0.3m) with entrance gap (Wth 4m) at S. The interior was level, wet and clear of undergrowth. A water filled field boundary (orientated NW-SE) runs along the NE side of the ringfort between the scarped edge and fosse. The site is covered in trees visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
