Annotated 'Site of Old Graveyard' on 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map but not indicated on subsequent ed. OS maps. Westropp (1904-5, 381) recorded the following; 'Kyle, of Crancam . Same. Perhaps the Cromcon in charter of Magio, 1185. In Garranroe, Garranroo, in Cosmay, 1586
(C.S.P.L, p. 238). Site - A burial-place'. The Ordnance Survey Letters recorded that this 'Kyle or burial ground for children called Crann Cam, crooked tree, is situated in Garranroe townland' (OSL Vol. 2, 392).
