The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture on a slight E-facing slope, with good views in all directions. The townland boundary between Ballygeale and Liskilly and enclosure (LI021-052----) are located 200m W and SW respectively, the old line of the Limerick to Charleville Railway lies 35m to E. Depicted on the 1840 OSi 6-inch map as a fort annotated ‘Lisnatinerlagh’ and on the later OSi 1897 25-inch map OSi map as an embanked circular enclosure (ext. diam. 32m N-S; 35m E-W) encircled by a later field boundary. The site was inspected in 2000 by the ASI and described as a roughly raised D-shaped area (int. diam. 16m N-S; 20.5m E-W) defined by a fosse and scarped edge to the S where a fifth of the site appears to have been truncated. The internal edge of the fosse (Wth 7.2m; D int. 0.8m; ext. 0.4m) on the N, E and W side is covered in mature trees, the S quadrant is open. A field boundary extends W from the NW of the site. The site is visible on Google Earth orthophotos taken 28/06/2018, 02/07/2018 and 14/02/2020.
See attached sketch plan surveyed and drawn by the ASI and Google Earth orthoimages.
