The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture on a low W-facing slope above former marshy ground, with good views to the S and N. The ringfort is located on the townland boundary between Castleroberts and Knockanes, 400m NNW of a ringfort (LI021-041----). The site is depicted as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m) in both townlands at the junction of 3 field boundaries on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Only the W quadrant of the site is depicted in Castleroberts townland on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a curving embankment (34m N-S) with no external ditch. The S, E and N enclosure boundary have been removed by 1897 and are not depicted on the map. Inspected by ASI in 2000, the interior of the site was level, raised and clear of vegetation. The site survives as a triangular area (int. 17m N-S; 13m E-W) defined by the post-1700 field boundary to the E and S, and by the curving arc of the ringfort bank (Wth 4.6m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.7m) to the W. A wide shallow fosse (Wth 3.8m; D 0.3m) is located outside the ringfort bank which was planted with young Beech trees in 2000. A modern entrance (Wth 5m) through the bank and fosse is located at the N corner along the W side of the townland boundary. The surviving section of the enclosure is visible on Google earth orthophotos as densely wooded in 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
