The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a gentle E-facing slope. A kidney-shaped mound (H 0.3m; 7.3m E-W; 5.5m N-S) of burnt material, with its opening facing E (1.5m N-S; 4.8m E-W). A field boundary which ran immediately to the N has been removed, and a recently erected dwelling house lies 30m to the NW. This possible burnt mound may be the remains of a section of the enclosing bank of a possible ringfort (int. diam. c. 30m; ext. diam. c. 50m) depicted at this location on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. On this map the possible ringfort is shown as a raised circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank which is transected at W by a post-1700 field boundary running N-S. On this map a diagonal field boundary running NE-SW lies immediately to N of enclosure. The cropmark of this levelled field boundary is visible today on Digital Globe aerial imagery taken 2011-13. A second post-1700 field boundary transected the monument at W on a N-S axis. The possible burnt mound material was recorded at the location where this field boundary intersected the possible ringfort. No surface remains visible today of the levelled ringfort that is depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map.
