The National Monuments Service's description

Graveyard described by Westropp (1904-5, 438) as following; 'Ballynanure, Killeen. Killinure, 1657 (Petty, Maps). Site - A burial-ground'. Ballynanure graveyard consists of a rectangular shaped area (approx. dims. 54m N-S x 34m E-W) enclosed by post-1700 stone wall with entrance gate at N, modern extension of graveyard to W.
