The National Monuments Service's description

In grassland 60m S of public road and 40m W of the avenue leading to a house and farm buildings depicted in 1840 OS 6-inch map. On this map the monument is shown as a circular-shaped area or mound (approx. ext. diam. 30m) the perimeter and interior of which has been planted with trees suggesting that this may have been a post-1700 tree-ring. The 1897 edition of the OS 25-inch map indicates a raised circular-shaped area (approx. int. diam. 30m, ext. diam. 42m N-S.) defined by a scarp with an outer ditch from SE through W to NE. This map also depicts a tree filled interior suggesting a tree ring. Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018 shows the monument heavily overgrown with vegetation. Depicted as an antiquity on the 1840 OS 6-inch map, this may have been an earlier ringfort reused as a tree-ring in the post-1700 period.
