The National Monuments Service's description

In gently sloping pasture S of Knocksentry Hill. Standing stone (LI006-084----) located 300m NNW on the summit of Knocksentry Hill. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular -shaped enclosure. 'Knocksentry Fort' described in 1840 as following; 'It is 2 chains [40m] in diameter and has what appears to have been an embankment round it, with 3 ditches running from it. It is not cultivated' (OSNB Killeenagarriff Parish 1107).
The site description is based upon its depiction on the 1897 OS 25-inch map and on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018. The monument is most likely to be a ringfort and is circular (dims. c. 40m in diam.). No external fosse is evident and no entrance can be identified. The enclosure survives within a curving field boundary defining the NE side of the monument. The monument is covered with dense scrub woodland.
