The National Monuments Service's description

This is the Mungret Gate Stone bearing an inscription with the date 1643 and the Limerick City Arms, 'Denis Leonard of Limerick Civic Trust has recently recovered the stone and it is currently in the yard to the rear of the Trust's headquarters in the Bishop's Palace' (Hodkinson 2007).
