The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle S-N slope towards the river Glyde. Buckley (1986, no. 522, 44) noted the local tradition of a 'cave' here. Exposed in 2003 above a chamber, which was sealed with two large capstones, one of which is broken into three pieces. The chamber (2.9m N-S; 2.4m E-W; max. H 2m) is beehive shaped, corbelled and of drystone construction. A drystone passage with a lintelled roof leads off the chamber in an easterly direction. From the chamber there is a narrow entrance and slight rise into the passage. The passage varies in Wth from 0.52m to 1.07m and in H from 0.9m to 1.34 m with the narrowest and lowest part at the entrance to the chamber. This passage extends for 12.4m where it is blocked with collapsed material. Approximately a metre before this point of blockage a second passage leads off to the S for c. 2.1m where it is also blocked.
