The National Monuments Service's description

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007

Sub-circular area (int. dims. 26.5m NE-SW, 24m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (Wth 4m, H 0.5m internally, 1.4m externally) with both an internal and external boulder revetment at N. On the NE the bank is now incorporated into the modern field system, and from the E-S-SW a modern ditch runs between the bank and modern field fence. Probable original entrance at W represented by a gap (Wth 2m). No visible fosse. Oval area W of interior divided from remainder by low stone-revetted scarp.
