The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Circular area (int. diam. 22m) enclosed by a degraded earth and stone bank (Wth 2.6m, H 0.2-0.6m) with traces of internal and external stone facing. Ancient entrance gap (Wth 1.4m) at SSE, with large stone forming the W side. Abutting bank at NNE of interior is a rectangular lean-to structure (max. dims. 5.2m E-W, 3.2m N-S) formed by an earthen bank (Wth 1.3m, H 0.4m).
