The National Monuments Service's description
Six pits and a section of the medieval town fosse were excavated at this location in 1995 (Excavation Licence 95E0168). The pits varied in size and construction, some contained medieval pottery dating to the late 13th - 14th century, indicating that they post-dated the fosse.(McConway, 1995)
